Founder Sheila Rivera
Sheila Rivera’s journey began with a dedication to serve and a belief in the power of the law to restore families. From her earliest cases to leading a respected legal practice in Houston, her mission has always been to bring hope and justice to those in need. Sheila’s guiding principle: understand each client’s story, advocate fiercely, and deliver results with compassion.
Sheila Rivera is an attorney with over 12 years of legal experience, including six years focused on immigration law, and the founder of RV Law Attorneys in Houston, Texas. Her practice was built with a clear mission: to restore and strengthen families through the law, primarily serving Latino and immigrant communities through family reunification, deportation defense, humanitarian visas (asylum, VAWA, and U visas), adjustment of status, citizenship, NIW (EB-2), and child protection cases.
Sheila views the law as a tool for restoration—designed to heal what is broken, protect the vulnerable, and restore hope. She has achieved strong results in asylum cases before USCIS and immigration courts, as well as in complex Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS) cases, with a 75% approval rate in Harris County Family Courts.
In 2024, she founded the Sheila Rivera Foundation, a nonprofit organization providing pro bono legal services to survivors of human trafficking, intentionally serving up to 12 survivors each year as a commitment to deep, transformational impact. Guided by faith, excellence, and compassion, Sheila’s work reflects a calling to bring light, order, and hope where there has been pain and injustice.
